NACRA stands for North American Catamaran Racing Association. The first NACRA’s were designed and built by Tom Roland in California, USA.
He established the Nacra name with the creation of the NACRA 5.2.
Since then, NACRA catamarans have come from a number of builders around the world including NACRA Australia (beginning in 1985), and Performance Catamarans Inc. in California, USA.
As of 2007, NACRA & PERFORMANCE SAILS was based in The Netherlands.
