Southerly 32 is a relatively young yacht in the shipyard’s rather conservative line (however, the line has been updated much more recently). The market demanded a boat shorter than 10m – to berth cheaper. Although the shipyard tried to produce relatively large and expensive boats, it had to meet this challenge. Despite its modest size, the 32 has all the features of its larger sisters: the lifting keel, two rudder pens and an automatic jib in standard.
All of this makes the 32th a genuinely reliable and comfortable model, with pleasant feedback on the steering wheel, able to run aground and become dry. The high board makes the yacht drier and safer than a number of similar sized yachts.
