The Elan 310 was a sensation almost immediately upon its arrival – a fast and well managed yacht with good habitability proved to be a bright star against the backdrop of the average European mass-produced sailing yachts. This boat can only be compared to a car such as the Archambault 31, with which the new yacht has exactly the same racing score on the handicap system IRC – 0.987. (In weak winds, however, Archambault with her small wet surface will obviously have an advantage, and with their amplification the stable Elan will feel better and better). Elan 310 can easily surf with its wide and flat stern but there’s a price to pay for everything – the manoeuvre manoeuvre manoeuvre is quite weak, steeper than 45°.

The light wood interior of the Elan 310 is very stylish and eye-catching and its shapes and lines are very similar to those of Oyster, which is no surprise: both Elan and Oyster’s interiors were designed by Robert Humphrey’s wife Joe Humphrey.
