The CR 400 DS is a very typical example of the Swedish approach to yacht building, somewhat atypical but with its own appealing aspects. Despite the fact that this yacht has an elevated saloon architecture (which usually means the boat belongs to the far cruiser type), she is positioned as a fast cruiser. Although the energy efficiency is certainly not very high and the length of the CVL is also not record-breaking, this is how the Swedes see this yacht, which is nevertheless designed for long distance transoceanic cruising. A lot of details speak for care and attention to future owners of the boat – for example, all portholes and skylights are double glazed: the condensate flowing from them can be forgotten. A number of sub-deck layouts include an internal control post – in bad weather you can control the yacht directly from the salon rather than from the cockpit, bringing the CR 400 DS closer to yachts with Pilot House architecture.
