Founded as a Joint Venture between Lars Halvorsen Sons Pty.Ltd. and Joseph H.H. Kong. Kong had been the Manager of the American Marine plant in Hong Kong. Holverson was a well known and respected builder based in Australia. Between 1975 and 1990, hundreds of craft were built by the firm in Hong Kong under the Kong & Halvorsen and ”Island Gypsy” names.
