History of the company
Christian Bouroullec founded the Pogo Structures shipyard in 1987. An excellent racer, he wanted to build boats for offshore racing and cruising with small crews or for singles. The first production boat Pogo 6.50 (Mini class) was launched in 1994. A couple of years later Michel Mirabel won the Transquadra Solo amateur transatlantic race. The yacht Pogo 2, which soon replaced the Pogo 6.50, won the Transat with Erwan Tymen in 2003.
In the following years, the company focused on the design of lift keel boats and also began to develop its cruise division – Pogo models were repeatedly named Yacht of the Year in «various» categories. Over the years the shipyard has built over 300 Mini 6.50 and Class40 yachts. Pogo yachts have earned the prestige by winning regattas many times. Mini-Transat, Transquadra, Québec Saint-Malo, Route du Rhum.
Guillaume Verdier, a member of Team New Zealand‘s design team that won the «America’s Cup in 2017», is responsible for the architecture of Pogo racing. Together with Pogo Structures he continues to develop the Pogo Mini class, and in particular developed a prototype of this class on the hydrofoil. The development of the shipyard’s cruise models was given to the architectural firm Finot Conq.
Production .
The production site of Pogo Chantier Naval Structures is located in Combri on the coast of Biscay and has an area of about 6 thousand square meters. The company employs over 70 specialists.

Model range
Pogo Structures is currently building Pogo cruising sailing yachts 30-50 feet long in glass composite hulls complete with a lifting keel and the yard is also continuing to build offshore racing yachts. Mono Yachts Mini 6.50 and Class 40. The shipyard has also started building motor high-speed cabin yachts under the Loxo brand.
